Ontario Place House, Salt Spring Island
A north facing waterfront house on Salt spring, the design challenge was to create an entry courtyard on the south side of the house and bring light into the home through clerestory windows and glass stairwell. The rhythm of shed roofs brings in light and views and an open spatial character to the interiors. The home uses glulam timbers, manufactured walnut floors, composite stone countertops and bamboo cabinets as sustainable finish materials.
